Welcome to the 2nd edition of our “Moments that Matter” series! In this monthly series, we will give you an up close look at what life on the Chesapeake is all about. Through photos of our adventures, our family, and scenes from the Bay area, we hope to give you a taste of what inspires us (and our food).
April brought us an abundance of beautiful flowers, warmer weather, and lots of time outdoors. Though the official start of spring was in March, it was this month that spring really sprung! Every day the trees got a little greener, the air a little warmer, and the flowers slowly began to bloom. Spring seemed a bit timid this year, almost as if the plants were afraid that winter would return at any minute. Although, after the relentless winter we endured, I certainly don’t blame them (we did have a few snow flurries in early April- unheard of here in Maryland)!
This month was a busy one for our family but we found time to squeeze in a few exciting adventures. Between the farmer’s market in Baltimore, the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC, and WineFest in St. Michael’s, we were all over the Chesapeake region in April! We also had an action-packed Easter Sunday full of family fun, egg hunts, and some amazing gluten free meals (thanks to my wonderful parents and in-laws). It was the perfect way to kick off spring and embrace the change of seasons… spring, we are soooo glad you are (finally) here!
We hope you enjoy this edition of “Moments that Matter” and be sure to check back soon, we’ve got lots of fun things to share with you this summer! Did you miss last month’s “Moments that Matter”? Don’t worry, you can find the March edition by clicking here!
